The Commons is a cooperative, public benefit studio. We encourage Worker-Members to invent, to create components for royalties, to spin up a project, even to spin them off with coop support.
As a public benefit cooperative we are, from the ground up, by and for people. We craft our software and work and partner relationships to be wholly observant of human interaction. This means from day one nothing we have created or will create contributes to the surrender of personal identity, creativity or thought.
People who work for The Cooperative for six months can apply to become Worker-Members. Worker-Members have voting rights and share in patronage dividends, as the Board determines, based on their labor contribution to The Cooperative.
Anyone can become a member of The Cooperative through a membership contribution.

The Cooperative is incorporated as a local, technology and media business seed entity for collaborative, community-wide media-technology incubation. Spin-up support is available to Worker-Members based on their labor contribution to The Cooperative.
We advocate and support the development of Worker-Members, the sharing of technology, and the spinoff of smaller cooperative or wholly independent businesses.
